This guide to facilitation supports MMOs improvement in how we communicate and engage with our stakeholders, especially the fishing industry, as set out in the MMO story, the next ten years. This was produced as a step as part of a co-management literature review (MMO1280) and for the MMO to support activities related to that practice. The guide identifies what circumstances facilitation is needed, necessary scales, shows when self-facilitation and independent facilitation are requires, how to manage conflict and sets out practicalities and cost. Finally, the guide suggests how to evaluate facilitation.
